Monday 23rd May 2016

Today I bought the final parts to complete beginner crochet kits for use later in the year. They will be used for two different purposes. One is a crochet workshop I am running for a society I am a member of (there are lots of workshops going on at the same time) and the other purpose for these kits is to sell them at craft fairs. Each kit contains yarn, crochet hooks, scissors, stitch markers and a yarn needle. I will be providing basic notes about crochet and instructions on how to make a couple of things. I'm thinking of maybe a granny square and a hat or small drawstring pouch. By doing a lot of careful research, I have managed to contain the price of each kit to little over £8. It has helped enormously that my local yarn store has major discounts at the moment because they are relocating to a different part of town. I'll be showing off the contents and talking about where I bought all the parts to the kits in my video on Friday this week (27th May 2016).

I have been playing around a little bit with the video facility on Instagram recently. If you wish to follow me on there, just search for "24 Carat Crochet". I post pictures of what I'm working on, what I'm watching on YouTube and various other random stuff.

When I'm crocheting, I generally prefer to watch YouTube videos rather than TV shows. There have been quite a few people in the yarn world starting to make regular YouTube videos over the last 18 months and I'm always on the lookout for more people to watch. If there are any ones I am particularly excited about, I'll let you know. I'm thinking about making a dedicated page on this website or, at least, writing a blog post about the ones I think are worth watching.

Anyway, I think that will be it for the moment. Hope you are all doing well and I'll see you again soon!
